* MathMagic Pro & Personal v6.7 for Mac OS X released

Being a Universal Binary since v6.0 at the end of last year, there have been many improvements over the last 9 months as you can find in v6.7 Version History file.
Some of them include

  • Batch conversion for multiple equations/folders from various formats to same or other formats. Applying a StyleSet during the conversion also supported. For example, converts all MathML or LaTeX files to EPS or PDF.
  • Macro for File naming and User defined path for frequent/continuous equation writers.
  • Handles CMYK/RGB/Gray color separately. Spot colors also supported.
  • new improved 2-row UI for Template/Symbol palettes
  • reads MathML, LaTeX, Wiki expressions, MathType equations better
  • comes with OpenType MM~ MathMagic fonts
  • Right-click or control-click for contextual menu in the editor window

Please try v6.7 if you did not try MathMagic recently.

* MathMagic Pro & Personal v4.5 for Windows just released, and more to come

MathMagic Windows version now catches most of the Mac version's feature and have much improved stability.

The latest v4.5 includes CMYK/RGB/Gray support and handles Spot color/Process color as well as improved Color window interface.
It reads and pastes MathML, AMS LaTeX, Wiki TeX, MS Equation Editor and MathType equations.

MathMagic v4.3 or newer officially supports Windows XP or newer only. Older versions of Windows such as Windows 98 should use MathMagic v4.21 or older.
Windows XP users may need to install additional Windows DLL components to run MathMagic v4.5, which can be downloaded from MS site. Windows Vista readily has everything. This is because MathMagic v4.3 or newer is built with MS VS 2005, technically speaking.

What is more? v5.0 is under development with the target release schedule by the end of this year. v5.0 will include batch conversion, Macros for file naming, and more. Please stay tuned.

* Updated InDesign CS4 plug-ins available

MathMagic CS4 plug-ins were added to MathMagic Pro for InDesign for both Mac and Windows since early spring this year. Since then, there were a few updates, which can be found in the latest MathMagic Pro for InDesign.
Mac version includes new features as well, which is Automatic/Macro naming feature for equations and user defined location of EPS equation files.
MathMagic CS3 plug-in also has been improved. Please try the latest Plug-ins, found in the latest version of MathMagic Pro Edition folder.

FYI, the latest MathMagic Pro for InDesign(both Mac & Win) works with InDesign CS2, CS3, and CS4. Mac version also works with InDesign CS and 2.0.
