If the following message is displayed when MathMagic is launched :
"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
Please vist this Microsoft page, download and run "vcredist_x846.exe".

Note for Windows Vista users.
If some OpenType fonts are not installed by the installer, please install MathMagic OpenType fonts manually.
For more information about Windows Vista compatibility, please read the ReadMeFirst document in the installed MathMagic folder inside \Program Files\ folder.

- Added: MoboMath, a handwritten equation editor by Enventra, Inc., supported by MathMagic as a way of inserting equations, via drag&drop or copy&paste. "MoboMath for MathMagic" bundled to regular versions of MathMagic Personal and MathMagic Pro.
- Changed: When importing LaTeX, unknown symbol names maintained without discarding.
- Fixed: Drag and drop from foreign application while a MathMagic native equation is in the clipboard inserted a wrong equation.
- Fixed: Batch Conversion of MS Word documents located on a certain location could not be converted.
- Fixed: Some character spacings were incorrect when a non standard character was inserted.
- Fixed: Primes were not handled in LaTeX import.

- Changed: The default height of Left or right Superscript and Subscript templates changed when there is no base character.
- Fixed: Drag&drop or Pasting of MathML expression did not work when there were leading space characters.
- Fixed: "Save" dialog not displayed when closing a new window if the window received an equation via Drag&Drop only.

- Added: Batch Conversion dialog now supports Extracting equations from MS Word documents (.doc or .docx). Equations can be saved in MathMagic format or converted to EPS, JPEG, MathML, or LaTeX. MathMagic can also extract all graphic images out to separate files from MS Word documents.
- Added: Frown embellishment and 4 other accents added to Accent template palette and some palette items rearranged.
- Added: Variable height Angle division template added to the Fraction template. Its angle width and height can be adjusted in the Define Spacing -> Fraction pane.
- Changed: Vector(right arrow) accent is now displayed as a character instead of drawing an arrow shape
- Changed: Left and Top edge of editor window now has 3pt gap not to touch equation to the window frame.
- Fixed: Some \cr expressions handled better when importing LaTeX or Wiki equations.
- Fixed: one line equation with a function name at the end may cause crash when copied as Plain TeX.

- Pentium or faster

- About 15MB of hard disk space for complete installation

* Installation |
- If installing on Windows XP or earlier,
- Download the latest Installer from download page
- Double click on the installer icon to proceed the installation
- Launch MathMagic application from Windows menu or from the following location:
\Program Files\MathMagic Personal Edition\
|
- If installing on Windows Vista,
- Download the latest Installer from download page
- Right-click on the installer application, and select 'Properties".
- Select "Windows XP" compatibility mode, and turn on "Run as an Administrator" privilege.
(This is to make the installer install MathMagic OpenType fonts correctly. Otherwise, some OpenType fonts may not be installed automatically even if they can be installed manually.)
- Then, double click on the installer icon to proceed the installation.
- After installation, select MathMagic application from the following location:
\Program Files\MathMagic Personal Edition\
- Right-click on it, select 'Properties".
- Select "Windows XP" compatibility mode, and turn on "Run as an Administrator" privilege.
(This is to make MathMagic read/write Registry correctly. Otherwise, Registry error message might be displayed.)
- Then, launch MathMagic application.

UnInstall will help you remove most of the installed files. But in some cases the installed files may not be removed if used by other application or system. |
